FACT SIX The role of inanimate objects such as hats, hair brushes and bed linen in the transmission of head lice has long been debated. There is no conclusive evidence to suggest that the head lice can be transmitted by such objects. Because head lice dehydrate rapidly if not able to feed, it is most probable that individual lice cannot live for more than a couple of days at most off their host.
